August 15th - 27th 2011. The Vancouver Global Dance Project (VGDP) is Vancouver's first contemporary youth dance festival. The central aim of VGDP is to unite the dance community through education and performance and to create, support and promote internationally recognized contemporary dance work.

This inclusive festival welcomes anyone with a passion for dance and choreography to take part and promises to be an unforgettable summer experience!

The festival will officially begin on August 15th with a three-week dance intensive open to youth and pre-professional dancers. Through the VGDP Choreographic Festival aspiring choreographers will be given the unique opportunity to submit, rehearse and showcase creative work and the VGDP Performance Series will introduce creative work from festival participants and youth-based dance companies to the public at Vancouver's Performance Series on August 27th 2011.
